The Liberty Redhawks boys' and girls' golf team combined to win the 2018 Frisco Cup Team Trophy at this weekend's Frisco Cup, held at Frisco Lakes GC. The girls' team shot a 36-hole total of 317-333: 650, and the boys' team shot a 36-hole total of 317-323: 640, giving the Redhawks a team total of 1,290 strokes, outpacing 2nd place Centennial (1,331) and 3rd place Wakeland (1,338) on the way to the championship. The Frisco Cup is a unique, 36-hole tournament that combines the boys' team score with the girls' team score for an overall school team total. The Frisco Cup tournament features only the top team from each of the ten Frisco ISD schools. This is the 5th year of this event, and in addition to the team championship there is an individual medalist trophy for the boys' division and the girls' division. Raeleigh Davidson led the girls with a 3rd place finish in the individual standings, while Vijay Jain led the boys team with his 3rd place finish in the boys' overall individual medalist race. The other team members who helped to win the 2018 Frisco Cup were Andrew Pearson, Vince Matrone, Jack Day, Caden Quesenberry, Alison Fong, Sona Shah, Lizzy Stone, and Maya Jain.
